I'm a drummer, percussionist, composer, and educator known for both my outside-of-the-box approach to drumming and neck breaking grooves. My belief is that everyone should try to discover their own unique voice on their instrument and that it is an ongoing process that never truly ends.I started drumming under Al Miller and later, private instructor Scott Foley. After a few years with no teachers, I began studying under Billy Martin and was inspired to pursue studies at the world renowned Drummers Collective in 2001. There, I studied under masters such as Michael Lauren, Kim Plainfield, Frank Katz, Fred Klatz, Memo Acevedo, and many others. Since completing studies at The Collective, I've continued studies with Billy Martin and studied percussion under Cyro Baptista as well.To date, I've performed and/or recorded with Billy Martin, Cyro Baptista, Terry Bozzio, Colleen Rennison and The New Breed, and more. I have also written an instructional book, lauched the free "Heavy In The Beats" mixtape series, and several online instructional series including "Return of The Groove" and "Thinking Outside of The Box".I get a ton of questions about my cymbals. I exclusively play Hammerax cymbals and hybrids!
